Sobriety 02:31
SOBRIETY Come swish around, my pretty punk, And keep me dancing still That I may stay a sober man Although I drink my fill. Sobriety is a jewel That I do much adore; And therefore keep me dancing Though drunkards lie and snore. Sobriety, sobriety! My little punk! Sobriety, sobriety! We are drunk! O mind your feet, O mind your feet, Keep dancing like a wave, And under every dancer A dead man in his grave. No ups and downs, my pretty, A mermaid, not a punk; A drunkard is a dead man, And all dead men are drunk. Sobriety. sobriety! My little punk! Sobriety, sobriety! We are drunk!

Whiskey 03:56
WHISKEY You left me again, but this time for good The daytime ran fast, but the nights just stood So I went to a bar near my home And I met this guy, Jamie, a decent fellow. He said: ’Come here, my friend, you look so sad Surely I can help you make your bad times pass Come here, my friend, you look so sad Just drink it up and you’ll forget!’ The next day I met Jamie again But this time he brought along Johnny, his friend. I started to talk about how life’s hard on me These two guys were quietly listening to me. They said: ‘Come here, my friend…’ The next day I met Jamie again But this time he brought along a lot of his friends Johnny and Jim and Jack joined the gang And they became a bunch of good friends. They said: ‘Come here, my friend…’ So we’ve been together since I don’t know when I do the talking and they just listen. I lost my job, too, but I have these friends. They surely can make my bad times pass! They say: ‘Come here, my friend…’

The House 02:29
THE HOUSE The house is quiet again. Let’s get in! Slowly creep along the walls and jump through the broken window! Don’t make a noise! It’s dark, light the candles! Everybody is here, the girls, the whiskey, and we’re gonna have a ball! Our shadows are dancing on the wall. More and more I feel alive. Jokes and laughs are breaking out. Please come closer! We’re singing crazy songs. The dogs! Not the dogs again! My heart skips a beat, the barking’s getting louder and I feel the heat! Hey! Hey! Blow the candles out! Hey! Take the bottles and get out! Hey! Hey! Get your girl and run! Hey! For tonight there’s no more fun! Run for your life! Run for your life!

Hey Johnny 02:41
HEY, JOHNNY! When Johnny takes his banjo, everybody’s jumping round and round Holding up their beers and shouting: ‘Hey, Johnny, you’re the best in town!’ When Johnny goes to Maggie’s house, she takes a bottle of whiskey out. In an hour she is shouting: ‘Hey, Johnny, you’re the best in town!’ Johnny is cool, Johnny is fine! He knows how to drink, he knows how to fight! He likes the blond and he likes the brown. Hey, Johnny, you’re the best in town! Hey, Johnny, my friend, come over here! I’ll buy you a beer and let’s sit down. Tell me your secret my good friend, cause I wanna be the best in town! Johnny is cool, Johnny is fine! He knows how to drink, he knows how to fight! He likes the blond and he likes the brown. Hey, Johnny, you’re the best in town!

THE TRAIN THAT NEVER STOPS When we were young, teenage boys, We always tried to break the rules. I started drinking at the age of fifteen And I always had some girls to please me. We went to see all the local bands, Me, and Tom and some drinking friends, But it turned out that booze was just not enough, So we took everything that we got. Our life was just an imitation, so I’d left the train before it left the station. I still can hear Tommy’s laughs, now he’s on a train that never stops. We were on the road every day and night, Sex and drugs and party all the time. We started again when the new day came. It felt like playin’ a game. One day the needle killed one of our friends. I went running around town, crying, with shaking hands. I told Tommy to stop, but the answer was a laugh: ‘Don’t you know that this train never stops!’ Our life was just an imitation, so I’d left the train before it left the station. I still can hear Tommy’s laughs, now he’s on a train that never stops.

Get a Life 02:11
GET A LIFE! Sunday, the sun comes up and I don’t feel like waking up. Don’t call, don’t look for me and don’t knock on my door! Sunday, the sun goes down, tomorrow I’m sure I’ll be fine. I’ll try to remember what my father said: Get a life, start to live my son! Don’t waste your time and have your fun! Get a life, start to live my son, cause you won’t get more chances! Monday, the sun comes up and I don’t feel like waking up. No point to go to work and start it all again. Monday, the sun goes down, tomorrow I’m sure I’ll be fine. I’ll try to remember what my mother said: Get a life, start to live my son! Don’t waste your time and have your fun! Get a life, start to live my son, cause you won’t get more chances!

Gold Rush 03:36
GOLD RUSH And now I am hanging here, eight feet high, six feet tall. I was hanged for the things I’ve done, I sold my soul for the gold. I came here to fulfill all the dreams that I had. I was a poor bastard back at home, so I sailed here to the promise land. Don’t cry my Oriana! You know I won’t come back Until I find some gold, a pocketful, I promise you that. I saw him digging one day, he was alone at the heights. I knew for sure he had it, I could see it in his eyes. I smashed his face, oh I smashed his face with a rock in my hand. Killing was so easy, now he’s buried in the wasteland. Don’t cry my Oriana… A stranger came to me one day, he was just an old fool. He came here many years ago, but he couldn’t find any gold. ‘I can see it in your eyes’ he said. ‘I know what you got in your hand.’ I drowned him in the river that night, now he’s floating through the promise land. Don’t cry my Oriana…
