lyrics

THE TRAIN THAT NEVER STOPS

When we were young, teenage boys,
We always tried to break the rules.
I started drinking at the age of fifteen
And I always had some girls to please me.
We went to see all the local bands,
Me, and Tom and some drinking friends,
But it turned out that booze was just not enough,
So we took everything that we got.

Our life was just an imitation, so I’d left the train before it left the station.
I still can hear Tommy’s laughs, now he’s on a train that never stops.

We were on the road every day and night,
Sex and drugs and party all the time.
We started again when the new day came.
It felt like playin’ a game.
One day the needle killed one of our friends.
I went running around town, crying, with shaking hands.
I told Tommy to stop, but the answer was a laugh:
‘Don’t you know that this train never stops!’

Our life was just an imitation, so I’d left the train before it left the station.
I still can hear Tommy’s laughs, now he’s on a train that never stops.
